The encore of Snake Dance cuts out before the end (Comparing it with the other Snake Dance there's only 34 seconds missing).  When this show appeared on Dime in 2008 it also had an incomplete Snake Dance.  Since a c60 was used to make the master (tape flip is at 30 min) I'd make a guess that they're all like this and a complete version doesn't exist (unless there was a 2nd taper).  This isn't the Dime version, so I don't know how they compare.

I've made a 2nd version of the 2nd Snake Dance, adding the missing 34 seconds from the first Snake Dance.  For the purists who think this is taking things too far, the cut version is also included.  Listen to whichever version you prefer.

I never knew the date or venue of any of the live footage but there's a clip of one of the songs on youtube captioned "Saturday 14th May 1983, Riley Smith Hall, Leeds University" so I'm assuming that's correct.  It definitely fits in with my original guess of "early'83" anyway.  The guy I got this from had asked a member of the band if they knew what the date or venue was only to be told "No idea. I didn't even know the video existed."

The live footage comes from 2 different shows, the undated one shot with a single camera, the other being a multi-camera job, or maybe just 2 cameras if they kept moving into different positions.

The Saturday Superstore clip wasn't part of the original tape, I added that from another tape.

It's after Simon D left, so just Cleo on vocals.

The sound goes a bit wobbly for tracks 5-9.  I checked the tape in another deck to make sure it wasn't the tape deck at fault, and it played the same in both decks.  It was probably copied with a faulty tape deck/high speed dubbing?  Someone upped a version of this show to Dime in 2008, so maybe that version doesn't have the wobble?

And a wonderful surprise dropped by Eggi today here on DCR, his master recordings of the March Violets and Ulterior and Islington Academy in 2010 and James Rays Gangwar after party concert at the Slimelight.  A HUGE THANK YOU!!! This is like Christmas came 9 months earlier! Respect.

Sound it's Excellent on the March Violets and Ulterior recordings. The James Rays Gangwar was, by all accounts, plagued with an awful sound, so the recording is also a little muddy, but actually better than the sound on the venue. It didn't help that the JRG concerts consisted in a barriage of feedback with some improvised lyrics (I have all their records and could only recognise two songs...)

The MV concert is incomplete, only the first 40 minutes, but worth listening to every second of it :)
